WHO ARE WE?

The Skipton-in-Craven Civic Society was formed in 1961.  As a registered charity our aims include:
▪ promoting high standards of planning and architecture in or affecting the town
▪ raising awareness of local geography, history and natural history and architecture
▪ helping to secure the preservation, protection and improvement of local features historic or public interest
We  pursue these aims:
▪ through lectures, study groups, exhibitions, publications and
▪ by commenting on planning applications

And through an annual programme of talks, from October to May each year, and during the summer months, we organise guided walks and visits featuring places of interest.
