Skipton-in-Craven Civic Society

Everyone has the right to live somewhere they can be proud of. If you are passionate about maintaining the beauty and character of the place where you live, then join us in helping to influence the way our town develops.
Our Activities include:
Pocket Parks – we have created several small green spaces, most notably at Millbridge and the Wilderness.
Gawflat Meadow – our largest environmental project to date was to rescue from neglect this rare urban organic hay-meadow. It is now integrated within Aireville Park and is a Queen’s Field in Trust.
Planning – our members include architects, historians, environmentalists and conservation experts who advise us when reviewing and commenting on planning applications.
Speakers – we hold illustrated talks in the Town Hall every first Wednesday of the month from October to May with a wide range of speakers and topics.
Guided Walks – we organise guided walks around Skipton and its environs with visits to places of interest further afield during the summer.

And through an annual programme of talks, from October to May each year, and during the summer months, we organise guided walks and visits featuring places of interest.
