The Aire Rivers Trust

The Aire Rivers Trust is the only charity dedicated solely to improving the River Aire. Our River Aire Care volunteers meet each week on Thursdays and Fridays on the riverbank across Bradford and Craven to do practical conservation tasks that make our river a better place for people and wildlife. Tasks vary depending on the season but can include tree planting, litter picking, footpath maintenance, hedge laying, and cutting riverside meadows. Volunteers are expected to make their own way to sites, and we cannot guarantee all are accessible by public transport. However, we will pay reasonable travel expenses. Volunteering is outdoors in all weather, and volunteers are expected to have a reasonable level of fitness. No prior experience is required, and we often have a range of tasks on the day. Training and support are provided. We're a friendly group that is always keen to include new members. Some people come every week, and others come only when we are in their local area.
