The Nurturing Growth project was launched in 2023 by Skipton Step Into Action as an extension of its original project, Ground Yourself In Green. The project is delivered over the spring and summer months in Aireville park in Skipton and offers a range of inclusive activities for adults living in Skipton and surrounding villages to partake in.
The original Ground Yourself In Green project brought people together for many nature based activities from 2021-2023. Nurturing growth is set out to a achieve a similar goal, bringing the community together with nature.
The Nurturing Growth project advertises weekly activities such as; Mindful walks, coffee and chats, yoga and creative mindfulness. Additional to this, Nurturing Growth members are also invited to enjoy Tai Chi with Val Preston who is from TrulyEssential Holistic Therapy. This is discounted to only £6.50/hour for members.
The programme occurs on a Thursday each week, and although runs outside in Aireville park in the spring and summer months, it doesn't just stop in the autumn, it continues running indoors at Skipton Town Hall.
Other than Tai Chi sessions, all other sessions are free! Just make sure to reserve your place if you wish to join Yoga and Mindfulness sessions.
